Rival Hydrovac T7 and T10 Hydroexcators
Rival Hydrovac is an industry leader in providing weight-conscious hydroexcavation vehicles. As the industry continues to grow, the loaded weight of these vehicles has become a large issue.
Rival builds two models of trucks. The T7 model is mounted on a tandem chassis. These units haul 7 cubic yards of debris and 800 gallons of freshwater. The T10 model will carry 10 yards of debris and 1,200 gallons of water. The tandem unit applies in most jurisdictions across North America in terms of allotted gross vehicle weight. The larger units are available in three different chassis configurations dependent upon location.
Rival tries to listen to the customers’ input and has added many items over time to better address operational issues, according to a company spokesperson. Among those additions are a Vanair System for air excavation and running air tools; a bumper-mounted coring system for cutting hard surfaces; auxiliary hydraulic circuits for running tooling; and recently, the company has begun testing a new filtration approach that it believes will make a large difference when working in dry materials.
